How to Make Bubble Tea Cheese Foam
Bubble tea cream cheese foam how to make

This is a guide to how I make bubble tea cheese foam at home. It is very easy to do, and fairly quick. This is the same cheese foam that you find in boba tea shops used to top off their drinks before they sale them.

I will give a simple recipe for it, as well as a recipe to make larger batches of this if you are a barista at a boba cafe. Hopefully you can also create beautiful homemade boba drinks too with this topping.

Make sure that you mix this separately in a bowl or container from your bubble tea drink when making this. This will be added to your drink as a last topping once your boba tea is made.

The left overs can be stored in a container and refrigerated for 3 to 4 days after it is made.

How to Make Bubble Tea Cheese Foam For Home

This is the recipe for making boba cheese foam in smaller amounts; suitable for one drink.

Here are the ingredients:

  • Cream Cheese – 1 Tablespoon
  • Condensed Milk – 1 Tablespoon
  • Whole Milk – 1 Ounce (2 Tablespoons)
  • Whipping Cream – 2 Ounces (4 Tablespoons)

Make sure you have whipping cream, not whipped cream.

Equipment Needed:

1. Put the cream cheese in first.

Start by placing 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese in the cup or bowl first. There is no need to break it up at this point since it is only a small amount.

2. Add your condensed milk.

Add in 1 tablespoon of condensed milk into your drink. Use the condensed milk to add some sweetness to your boba cheese foam. Milk is going to be added later, so this is a perfect sweetner.

3. Mix it together.Mix the cream cheese and the condensed milk together using the small whisk or a spoon.

4. Add the whole milk.

Put 1 ounce of whole milk into the cup/bowl. This is 2 tablespoons. The whole milk will make it smoother in the end.

5. Add in your whipping cream.

Finally add 2 ounces (4 tablespoons) of whipping cream to the cup/bowl.

6. Whisk it.

Give it a final whisk, and thoroughly mix everything together.

7. Place on top of your boba tea.

Place it on top of your boba tea by carefully scooping the boba cream cheese out with a spoon.

How to Make Bubble Tea Cheese Foam For A Boba Shop

If you want to make bubble tea cream cheese for a boba shop, then you’ll need a bigger whisk, and a mixing bowl or a tub.

The amount used for home is sufficient for covering 1 drink with a good thick layer of cream cheese foam. It is safe to assume that the drinks you are making in your boba shop might have a thinner layer.

Either way, this recipe should be sufficient enough to cover atleast 32 drinks:

  • Cream Cheese – 2 Cups
  • Condensed Milk – 2 Cups
  • Whole Milk – 4 Cups
  • Whipping Cream- 8 Cups

Follow the same directions above for whipping this together.

If you want to thicken the boba cream cheese, then add more cream cheese; if you want to loosen it, then add more whole milk.

A few dashes of salt can make this a salted cream cheese foam mix. If you want something more salted, I would recommend using the sea salt cream mix instead.

There is a cream cheese powder that can be used to make boba cream cheese. It would take 1 tablespoon of the powder for every teaspoon of water to form the cream cheese. Cream cheese powder can even be better than cream cheese.

The rest of the cream cheese would still have to be made with milk and whipping cream.

Custom boba cream cheese can be made by adding in syrups into the cream cheese while mixing it. Also, other milk types can be used like soy milk, coconut milk, almond milk, and 2% in place of the whole.

If the milk is changed, then slight modifications to the ingredients to thicken or loosen the cream cheese foam, might be needed.

The cream cheese foam is dairy, so changing the milk won’t change that, because the cream cheese itself is dairy. So is the whipping cream. This also means that when it is added to a vegan bubble tea, that it is no longer vegan.

Note: This mixture can be placed in teas, boba, and coffees.
